I am a strong opinionated woman. Some people love this about me. Others, not so much.

For the record, I love opinionated men, too. :)

In a fine display of opinions last night, our membership was presented with a proposed endorsement policy change and the opinions flew! The basic proposal was to prohibit the entire Executive Board and Nominating Committee to individually endorse candidates, publicly or privately, that are contrary to NWPC endorsement.

Given that many people who are NWPC members are also members of other organizations with other political associations, leanings, connections and obligations, there was considerable push-back on the proposal. In the end, an amendment was proposed which would limit the individual endorsement restriction to the President only. The nominating committee would be restricted from endorsement individually until the endorsement process was completed. The revised proposal will be considered next month.

On a personal note, many of you know I'm going through a challenging time as I divorce. While I act like I'm OK (and I ultimately am), I don't always feel that way. With the uncertainty I'm facing, I truly appreciate the friendships I have with my NWPC sisters. Our monthly dinner meetings and work in between provide me with much needed solace. Thank you all for your support.
