Celebrate Women's Equality Day - 91st Anniversary

Celebrate Women's Equality Day 91st Anniversary with NWPC-Fresno! On Friday, August 26, 2011 at 5:00pm, NWPC-Fresno will host their Women's Equality Day Gala at the Fresno Art Museum with hors d'oeuvres, wine and entertainment. This is the time to take advantage of the opportunities offered by redistricting as we did that of term limits. Now is the time when we recruit candidates and raise money to get them elected. 

It took three quarters of a century to get that vote.  We are approaching a full century since and women still hold only a quarter or so of elected offices in this nation.  It is only 17% in Congress.  The highest rank – Speaker of the House – ever achieved by a woman was short lived.  We await our first woman president and our first female governor of our state.

It all starts right here:  with us, all of us. We need the involvement of every member who, in turn must involve friends.  Success has never come easy.  It requires us to STRETCH, STRETCH, STRETCH beyond anything we thought possible.

A gracious THANK YOU to those who have already answered the call to be involved in this our most important event of the year.  None of us can do it all but each of us can do something.  You don’t want to miss out.  In this time of assault on women’s rights no one of us can afford to be among the missing.  With involvement you can be the first to know.
